You can hear the birds singing their greeting to the new day as the sun creeps from behind the distant mountains to kiss the tops of the trees with its bright yellow rays of light. I was going after that moment with this watercolor/pastel painting. The main painting is all watercolor and I used pastel to add some soft yellow reflections of light and give a sort of 3d feeling.
